CheckBook Pro App Reviews

Rating CBP

I have totally given up on Intuit products. They have pandered to the Microsoft Community for far too long. Additionally, I find almost all these programs lack in their ability to allowone to customize the reports. I would prefer to have the option of having to choose between numbers and/or bar graphs. I find CBP difficult to make some corrections even having followed the instructions from the Support at CBP. I would like to see the summation numbers at the end of the report in a larger type rather then finding it so small on the bottom of the page. Other then that I find it is a decent Checkbook Program. If I wanted a program that followed my stocks i would get a dedicated stock program. I invest through Fidelity and their reports, which I can access at any time, are complete and more than any stock program can provide. I have no need for a double entry program. Flexibility with Reports is my primary concern.

It may be too soon to rate

We needed a checkbook app for our new iMac. Had used Quicken 2002 (yup! 2002) for 14 years on our PC…but heard the app for Mac was not so good, and besides, for the money, it had too much that we wouldn’t use. CheckBook Pro had the best ratings we found in research. Have used for about a month. It helps to use “help” or google when we want to figure out if it will do what we want it to do. We’ll know more after it becomes more familiar to use. So far so good in training an old dog to do new tricks.

Good Program, Priced Right, Downloads banks data.

This is a perfect replacement for numerous money trackers, if you are only interested in tracking your pesonal finances. Like others, I gave up on Intuit products. I used quicken from day one, and later as my business grew, I used it, despite the fact that it became increasingly expensive and complex. Finally I gave up and went to spread sheets because if you made a typo error. It was impossible to correct with quicken. Now it’s only personal finances, and I used the spreadsheet format, but downloading from the banks and investment firms were not intuative. So I tried Checkbook Pro. Works fine for me. It downloads my bank data with accuracy and is flexable enought I can set it up for the info I need. Why only four stars? The report end is lacking. I would like to see better financial reports. It’s easy on spreadsheets, so I’m sure the programmers could imporove in that area. (I’ll have to admit that I like the colored graphs and fancy displays, and that is not a necessary requirment — just looks impresive.)

so lost cost and works well on my MAC

Usable option for Apple user

I previously used quickbooks, but when I went over to Apple from a PC quickbooks was no longer able to do the same things it used to be able to do. CheckBook is a reasonable substitute, a little more cumbersome than Quickbooks, but a good alternative. Downloading from the bank is takes a few more steps, I probably haven’t mastered that yet!
