CheckBook Pro App Reviews

I used Quicken since forever. When I purchased an Apple product for my primary two years ago, I continued using Quicken with my Windows laptop because there did not seem to be a good financial app for the Apple. Finally at the end of this year, I installed CheckBook Pro on the Apple. I have set the registers from the first of the year and have automatic entries working. I love it! It works like a checkbook register only much better. I have 11 separate accounts operating well, credit cards, checking, savings, etc. I still consider that I am on a learning curve, but CheckBook Pro is looking great!

After using an Iphone, iPad and Mac computer successfully for several years, I realized how silly it was to coax my ancient HP PC along just to use the 2005 Microsoft Money program. CheckBookPro is easy to use and correcting the occasional mistake I make when entering my info is a snap. I now can retire my tired old PC.

Wow. This program has everything I’ve been looking for since Intuit left it’s Mac base high and dry. The only problem I have is that it can’t print checks. Really? Checkbook Pro can’t print a check? How hard can that be?

This app is very easy to use. I just switched from Quicken for my personal account and was looking for a less expensive alternative. Miss being able to print my checks and run a budget report, but otherwise its great.

I’ve used CheckBook Pro for over a year now, and I love it! I used to buy Quicken, and then had to update. Quicken is more for a business, not a homeowner, plus it has gotten so expensive. I absolutely love just how easy this program is to use. I did have a question when I first bought and used the app, that I submitted to the support team. It was answered immediately, and I was kind of embarrassed that I should have known that anyways. No problem, they were extremely nice and helpful. I’m just waiting for the ipad app so I can keep up while I’m away!

Have used Quicken but too complex for what I needed. Decided to try Checkbook Pro. I have found it easy to use - great for reconciling to bank statement. The product is reasonably priced. Glad I switched.

Have been using Microsoft Money for years and its time for a change since its not supported.Changed to Quicken too complicated. This program is in dept yet simple does all I want it to do and more I have used the support and they have replyed quickly and thoroughly the only thing I have not done is balance. Thanks for a powerful yet simple product..

Get past the short learning curve and it is as slick as can be. Got sick of paying Quicken outrageous amounts for software that wasnt all that perfect anyway. I mean, if you run a biz or need something more complicated go Quickbooks, but for 95% of us this is everything we need. I can keep track of all my finances, tax deductions, etc just as well. I do a download from my bank and import it into Checkbook evry few days or once a week and it works perfectly. What a great deal.

The functions are clear and intuitive. I used Quicken for mostly a checkbook function, and when I upgraded to an operating system that wasn’t compatible with the older Quicken version, I didn’t see a need to spend hundreds of $$$ for another of their versions (which had bad reviews by Mac users), so I decided to give Checkbook Pro a shot, and I’m glad I did. It keeps all the records and produces all the reports I need.

Just what I needed. Once you set up your accounts, it’s ready to go. Good program and inexpensive.

After using Quicken with Microsoft, this is much more user friendly, faster and enjoyable to work with on a Macbook. Thank You

Lacks iPhone and iPad counter part

We were looking for a good App for our home checkbook. Really like it so far. Tracking categories are an added feature that we like. Have reconciled one month so far and it worked great. I would recommend this for personal use.

I was looking for a way to record the things done and to plan for the things to come ( you know, to avoid bad surprises), get easy categorization, reports... That works perfectly well.

It is easy to use and keeps track of my checking and savings accounts.

Streamlined design and very functional!

I had no trouble moving 4 months of records on 5 accounst using QIF. Editing the accounts was straightforward, and documentation is easy to search and accurate on all the questions I had. I miss not having an iOS version so I can enter my receipts from my iPhone, but support answered within a day that they are working on a version for that already. After a month of use, I find it accurate, easy to edit and manage. Good app … just needs iOS version to completely fill my needs!

1) Does not offer option to sort transactions with the same date by amount! The way banks post transactions. 2) No option for sub-balances in shelf by group! Example same checking account used by husband and wife each with own balance. 3) Only amounts should be red or green depending on positive or negative. 4) No option for current balance if you have future transactions in your account. (So you can see future cash flow). I have tried Banktivity, CheckBook Pro and MoneyDance. MoneyDance is by far the best!
